Nadella U-Line, part of the Nadella by Rollon range, is a compact linear guidance system for medium-duty applications. The aluminium rail features internal steel shafts that act as raceways. The carriages are made from anodised aluminium and fitted with double-row ball bearings.
The LM version is available within the U-Line product range. The combination of the aluminium rail profile and the ball-bearing-mounted carriages makes the system an attractive option for machine designs where the available installation space and the weight of the guide system are key considerations. For applications where corrosion resistance is important, stainless steel shafts and rollers are also available.
What to look out for when choosing U-Line?
When selecting the Nadella by Rollon U-Line, the load, stroke and available installation space are key considerations. The position of the centre of mass also warrants attention. When a load acts outside the centre of the guide, moments are generated that place additional stress on the carriages.
In addition, the required speed, the motion profile and the mounting structure all play a role. The rail must be adequately supported and correctly aligned to ensure smooth movement. When determining the dimensions, it is therefore necessary to assess not only the load-bearing capacity, but also the load distribution across the trolleys and the stiffness of the overall structure.
Environmental conditions also play a decisive role in the design. In damp or corrosive conditions, specialised materials may be required. The choice of a suitable configuration therefore depends on both the mechanical loads and the conditions in which the machine operates.
